Kia is an 8 1/2-year-old Staffordshire Bull Terrier.
These are the words from Kia’s owner Lisa;
One morning in August 2021 Kia woke up with the right side of her face swollen and sore. With no explanation as to what it could be she was taken to the vet. The vet checked her over, confirmed nothing was broken and gave her pain meds. It was just an unexplained issue that would likely be fine in a week or so.
Four weeks later Kia was getting worse, only opening her jaw halfway and struggling to eat. She wouldn’t play and would yelp when trying to eat her favourite dog treats.
As a worried dog owner, we returned to the vet who immediately arranged an X-ray of her mouth to ensure she hadn’t broken or fractured her jaw.
We got the worst call that any owner could get. A mass was growing in her jaw. Kia was diagnosed with osteosarcoma of the jaw and we were told nothing could be done. The survival time for dogs who do not receive treatment is 4 to 5 months. It was heartbreaking.
From that moment we started my dog on the natural CBD oil I knew it was working. Within two days Kia started to pick up and look brighter. She began eating and drinking more and started to look happy again. A couple more days passed and she started to play with her favourite teddy, she hadn’t done this for months because she was in so much pain.
Within a few weeks, Kia was like a puppy again. So much happier in herself and definitely out of pain. The vets were amazed. I feel the CBD gave her enough time to slow her tumour down, so we could finally get the surgery she desperately needed.
2 weeks after her surgery Kia had some tissue breakdown and the vet told me it wouldn’t heal on its own and needed more surgery. I upped the CBD and guess what? No further surgery was needed because she healed by herself and the surgeon was completely surprised.
I don’t know how my warrior of a pooch survived. She’s doing amazing, and back to her normal playful happy self and continues with her daily dose of CBD.
In my opinion, CBD along with surgery saved my dog, I feel that using CBD gave her back her life by reducing the pain and aiding her healing.
Kia will continue to stay on CBD as I know how much life she has now because of it.
