Can CBD help with Anxiey
CBD is one of the main cannabinoids in the cannabis plant. Cannabinoids interact with your endocannabinoid system (ECS) to help your body maintain a state of balance and stability or homeostasis. Research suggests that CBD can help with anxiety.
CBD and Anxiety
CBD works by interacting with the body’s endocannabinoid system (ECS). The ECS is responsible for mood, memory, sleep, behaviour and immune function. Regular consumption of CBD has been shown to have a positive effect on the ECS.
Research
A 2015 study showed strong evidence to support that CBD can help in the treatment of anxiety disorders, including social anxiety disorder, panic disorder, obsessive-compulsive disorder (O.C.D), generalized anxiety disorder (GAD), and post-traumatic stress disorder (P.T.S.D).
Another 2015 study suggests that the endocannabinoid system may play a strong role in some stages of neurogenesis. It suggests that the development of drugs that target the endocannabinoid system to aid neurogenesis could help to treat anxiety, depression and
How does CBD help with anxiety
Consuming CBD to help reduce anxiety can work both in the long term and short term.
Studies have shown that CBD interacts with the 5-HT1A serotonin receptor and works to increase the availability of serotonin in the brain which can reduce anxiety and boost mood.
It also can block the reuptake of anandamide (the bliss molecule) and its metabolism by the enzyme, fatty acid amide FAAH. This means that Anandamide stays in your system longer allowing you to feel the befits of your feel-good hormones.
Over time CBD has been shown to help rebuild brain cells in the hippocampus as well as regulate serotonin levels in the brain.
CBD helps to improve the binding ability of GABA which calms the nervous system, slowing down neurological activity and helping us relax when we experience panics attack.
Evidence suggests that regular consumption of CBD can also help regulate sleep, appetite, pain, and stress instantly and that CBD has shown to have a cumulative effect which means that results get better over time.
How can I take CBD?
There are a few different ways to take CBD but finding the best method for you and your lifestyle is key.
Taking CBD sublingually is one of the best ways to maximise absorption of CBD using CBD oil tincture. This way the oil is absorbed through tissues under the tongue and enters the bloodstream in around 15 minutes.
Not everyone likes the taste of traditional CBD oil, so CBD tablets and gummies offer a great alternative. The CBD tablets and gummies are all extremely convenient and really quick and easy to take.
Finally, we also offer CBD infused tea. CBD tea is a fabulous addition to your bedtime routine especially if you are struggling with sleep.
How much CBD should I take?
