Can CBD Help You Sleep?
Can CBD help you sleep? CBD is one of the main cannabinoids in the cannabis plant. Cannabinoids interact with your endocannabinoid system (ECS) to help your body maintain a state of balance and stability or homeostasis.
Some research suggests that CBD can also help you get a better night’s sleep.
CBD and Sleep
First ensure your sleeping environment is optimal, is it dark quiet and the air temperature cool? Has the consumption of caffeine and alcohol been removed?
Other reasons for poor sleep include anxiety, post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD), and depression.
Pain medication can disturb your sleep-wake cycle.
Physical conditions, such as chronic pain and restless leg syndrome.
If your insomnia is caused by any of these factors, CBD may help.
Anxiety
A paper published in 2019 looked at whether CBD could improve sleep and or reduce anxiety. The study involved 72 subjects, 47 experiencing anxiety and 25 experiencing poor sleep. The subjects were each given 25 milligrams (mg) of CBD in capsule form each day. In the first month, 79.2 percent of the patients reported lower anxiety levels and 66.7 percent reported better sleep.

Sleep patterns
A research paper – Frontiers in Pharmacology, noted that there is a fair amount of evidence to support the claim that CBD soothes pain. The authors noted that by reducing chronic pain, CBD can improve sleep.
Sleep cycle
A research paper from 2014 looked at patients with Parkinson’s disease. It found that CBD improved the symptoms of REM sleep behavior disorder (RBD), a disorder in which a person acts out their dreams. RBD is associated with poor sleep and nightmares. How can I take CBD?
There are a few different ways to take CBD but finding the best method for you and your lifestyle is key.
Taking CBD sublingually is one of the best ways to maximise absorption of CBD using CBD oil tincture, the oil is absorbed through tissues under the tongue and enters the bloodstream in around 15 minutes.
Not everyone likes the taste of traditional CBD oil, so CBD tablets and gummies offer a great alternative. The CBD tablets and gummies are all extremely convenient and really quick and easy to take.
Finally, we also offer CBD infused tea. CBD tea is a fabulous addition to your bedtime routine especially if you are struggling with sleep.
